Invest in Yourself
Hi Folks,
I wanted to take a few moments to share an idea I learned way back. Its very simple, because its the simple of act of “investing in yourself”.
What I mean by that is, that you should set aside some amount of $$$ each year and use that to further educate yourself in a suitable area.
The exact area is what makes sense to you and your career. This should be one of your 1, 3 or 5 year goals that you set for yourself (you did do this, right?)
These hard earned $$$ will be put into your future self, making you capable of getting a sizeable return of investment later on in life.
So how much should you set aside? I would recommend somewhere between 2-5% of your annual income if possible. At least during times of your life where you are able to do so.
So if you make $70.000 a year, thats $1400-$3500 a year. Adjust this to fit your own situation.
These funds should make it possible for you to buy training, books, courses and a whole range other stuff that enables you to gain further knowledge.
I have done this for many years and it has really paid of for me in opening doors, gaining a larger paycheck and generally making me feel good about learning new stuff and never standing still in the industry.
So set aside some cash for improving yourself and stay relevant in your chosen field. You’ll thank me later.
If you have some feedback regarding this advice, please let me know.
Thanks!
Take Care and Stay Strong!!
