Preparing for Attempt 2
Well, its late March 2024 and I have a little under 2 months left to prepare for my attempt #2 at the CCIE Security Lab exam.
I dont have much confidence yet, but I do hope I have improved in certain areas of the exam.
I would especially like to do a lot better in the Design section, which I grossly underestimated the last time around.
But also the configuration part I would like to close some of the known gaps I remember from my first attempt.
Here are some areas where I need to massively improve at this point:
- ISE - Need to build up speed and muscle memory to implement certain tasks.
- WSA - Almost everything regarding WSA needs to be practiced again.
- ESA - Same as WSA.
- Stealthwatch dCloud labs. - Need to go through these as I have NO experience with stealthwatch.
- DNA-C - Need to book company lab for a while to get used to the product and especially API’s.
- SAFE Framework - The entire SAFE framework is very important and I need to have a better grasp of it all.
So as you can probably tell, I have my work cut out for me. It doesnt help that I dont have much spare time due to work obligations either. I will probably need to address this concern with my boss for my next go at the lab. I know a lot of my study friends from other VAR’s have weekly days off to study, which would be a big help for me.
So its back to the books and get on with the work in front of me.
Small update, but wanted to keep you guys (especially those on the same journey) in the loop.
Take Care!!
