CCDE – A different Journey
Wednesday the 22nd of February, in a testing center in the middle of London, my journey towards achieving the CCDE certification, finally ended in me passing this beast of an exam.
This learning journey was a very different one than either of my CCIE’s.
A look at Auto-Tunnel Mesh Groups
In this post I would like to give a demonstration of using the Auto-Tunnel Mesh group feature.
As you may know, manual MPLS-TE tunnels are first and foremost unidirectional, meaning that if you do them between two PE nodes, you have to do a tunnel in each direction with the local PE node being the headend.
Snippet: The story of the EFP
For a while now, the concept of EVC’s (Ethernet Virtual Circuits) and EFP’s (Ethernet Flow Points), has eluded me. In this short post, i will provide you with a simple example of a couple of EFP’s. In a later post i will discuss the MEF concept of EVC’s.
Cisco strategy and direction.
Anyone who has been following Cisco products recently (last year or so), must have noticed Cisco’s new products.
This includes the Flip video recorder as well as the new tablet that has just been announced.
On top of that, adding the Linksys brand to their portfolio a couple of years ago, proves they are going in a completely different direction than previously.
Motivation has been gone.
Lately I have been having a motivational down-period.
I was doing alot of labs all evening/night and I was burned out. So I have been enjoying easter with family and girlfriend. It has been very nice. However, im starting to feel the urge of going back to the labs again which is good.
Exercising with some work switches.
One of my last tasks at work before I stop, is to create a new switched network for a location in Estonia. It will be a 10 switch network. The company is reusing two 3560 switches which I still need to receive.
Macbook Air is really really thin.. And summary of my weekend.
Yesterday I went into a Humac apple store in Aalborg (Denmark… Its in Europe… Across the water.. anyways), to see the new Apple Macbook Air. Oh dear, thats a sweet little laptop. It really is as thin as you hoped it would be.
